Sofia, 20-22 October 2021

The Seventeenth International Scientific Conference “Space-Ecology-Safety SES 2021”, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the first human space flight and the 40th anniversary of the scientific programme for the satellites “Bulgaria 1300”, was held at the Space Research and Technology Institute of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (SRTI-BAS).

Honorary Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Conference was the President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Full Member of the Academy, and chairman was Corr. Mem. Prof. Peter Getsov. In the Scientific Programme Committee, there were also representatives of Russia, France, Greece, Czech Republic, Italy, England, Netherlands, Egypt and Poland. The conference was also supported by the Bulgarian National Science Fund.

Head of State Rumen Radev welcomed the organizers, participants and guests of the forum. The importance of the conference was also underlined in the greetings of the Minister of Economy Daniela Vezieva, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science Corr. Mem. Prof. Konstantin Hadjiivanov, the Vice-President of BAS Corr. Mem. Prof. Stefan Hadzhitodorov and greetings from universities, institutes of BAS and the Agricultural Academy, agencies and others.

Three papers were presented by foreign scientists and mixed teams in the plenary session, and in the five sessions

– Space Physics

– Aerospace Engineering and Biotechnology

– Remote Sensing and GIS

– Ecology and Risk Management

– Space Materials Science and Nanotechnology

 

A total of 52 papers were presented by 100 scientists, PhD students and graduate students, including 20 international participants from 7 countries. All papers presented will be printed in the SES 2021 Conference Proceedings.
