Eureka Prize for Young Inventor awarded to Elitsa Petkucheva from BAS

The Eureka Prize for Young Inventor was awarded to Elitsa Petkucheva from BAS as co-author in the invention "Method of synthesis of electrode for application as electrocatalyst for the reaction of oxygen evolution". The award was presented by the President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Full Member of the Academy, at the award ceremony of the 2022 Eureka Prize winners. The ceremony took place on 31 January in the National Palace of Culture. The event was organized by the Eureka Foundation. The invention concerns new catalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction, methods for their production and potential application. Annual Conference of CNSDR “Critical Infrastructure Resilience – Research and Technologies”

The Center for National Security and Defense Research (CNSDR) at BAS celebrated its 20th anniversary The Annual Conference on "Critical Infrastructure Resilience - Research and Technologies" was held at “Acad. Ivan E. Geshov” Hall of BAS. The event was organized by the Centre for National Security and Defence Research (CNSDR) at the Academy. Meeting of Prof. Revalski with the Ambassador of Algeria to Bulgaria

Cooperation with the "Houari Boumediene" University of Science and Technology in Algeria was discussed at a meeting between the President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Full Member of the Academy, and the Ambassador of Algeria to Bulgaria H.E. Mrs. Baya Bensmail. During the conversation Prof. Revalski presented the activities of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, its history and structure. As an example of successful cooperation H.E. Mrs. Bensmail pointed out the exhibition on the occasion of the Independence Day of Algeria, held at the National Archaeological Institute with Museum of BAS last year. Award for BAS in the national competition “Building of the Year 2022”

The Central Building of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (1, 15th November Street, Sofia) has been awarded a special prize "Conservation and restoration of facades/artistic elements and artistic lighting" in the category "Social infrastructure - culture, science and education" in the National Competition "Building of the Year 2022". The annual awards were presented at a gala ceremony on 15 December at Sofia Event Center. The President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Full Member of the Academy, received the award.
