Bulgarian scientists have created the battery of the future

Scientists from BAS in partnership with colleagues from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" have created a new generation battery that will revolutionize the storage of energy. It is an original Bulgarian development of a safe, cheap and environmentally friendly rechargeable battery based on sodium. It can be combined with lithium-ion batteries or even replace them completely in a number of applications. The great achievement of our scientists is the development of a new type of electrodes from easily accessible materials such as sulphate salts which are widespread and can even be found on Mars. Scientists are looking for new approaches to the treatment of socially significant diseases

New methodologies for the application of natural products of plant and animal origin from Bulgaria to support the therapy of some infectious, malignant and neurodegenerative diseases are developed by scientists from 7 institutes of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and 5 higher schools. Scientific cooperation is within the framework of the first national scientific program for biomedical research in Bulgaria "Innovative Low-Toxic Biologically Active Means for Precision Medicine (BioActiveMed)". Expectations, after its implementation, are related to developing new approaches in the treatment of socially significant diseases and reducing the cost of their treatment. Dr. Hiroshi Yamakawa: After 2030, artificial intelligence will outgrow the human

Artificial Intelligence is an extremely fast-growing field of science and the world-wide competition for its development and application is highly controversial. The US and China are likely to remain leaders in the development of artificial intelligence. This was what Dr. Hiroshi Yamakawa, director of the Dwango Artificial Intelligence Laboratory in Tokyo said during his lecture at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Scientists from BAS and higher education institutions are developing new methods for using and storing clean energy

The National Scientific Program "Low Carbon Energy for Transport and Households" (E +) was presented on 8 February in "Prof. Marin Drinov" Hall of BAS. The program is financed by the Ministry of Education and Science and will be implemented for three years, announced its Head, corr.-mem. Konstantin Hadjivanov. He added that the research potential of seven universities and eight institutes of BAS has been included, providing conditions for the integrated implementation of scientific research, and applied and demonstration activities for the development and introduction of new technologies related to renewable energy and decarbonisation of economy. First international science forum of the Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO)
