The National Anthropological Museum at the Institute of Experimental Morphology, Pathology and Anthropology with Museum solemnly celebrated its 15th anniversary. The Director of the Institute Prof. Dr. Svetlozara Petkova opened the celebration by presenting the museum as a unique center of knowledge and preservation of cultural and historical identity but also a place to attract young people to open their heart and soul to science. BioBlitz survey on invasive alien species (IAS) will be conducted on 21 May 2022, in the region of Pancharevo Lake, Sofia Municipality. The survey has been organised at European level under the COST Action CA17122 Increasing understanding of alien species through citizen science (Alien CSI) (https://iasbioblitz.creaf.cat/). Fish Migration Day will be celebrated as an accompanying event. Fish sampling methods will be demonstrated to the participants and they will be informed about the direct and indirect threats to native ichthyofauna arising from changed hydromorphological conditions and other human impact, including invasive alien species. Prof. Dr. Krasimira Todorova-Hairabedyan from the Institute of Biology and Immunology of Reproduction of BAS was awarded in the competition of the Patent Office and the Union of Inventors in Bulgaria "Inventor of the Year" 2021, category "Chemistry and Biotechnology".
