A delegation from the Turkish University Çankırı Karatekin, led by the Rector Prof. Harun Çifçi, visited the laboratories of the Institute of Electronics of BAS and got acquainted with the latest scientific achievements of Bulgarian researchers. Director Assoc. Prof. Tatiana Kutsarova presented the activities and the coordinators of the scientific teams at the Institute. The possibilities were discussed for cooperation in the field of new materials and coatings, methods and technologies in the field of materials science, electron-beam technologies, remote sensing of the atmosphere and non-linear optics with applications in industry, biomedicine and the environment, on which the scientists of the Institute of Electronics are working.

A total of five patents and utility models were supported by IE in the past year, and another 7 are pending registration. The Institute of Electronics is training PhD students in five PhD programmes and young scientists from other countries are also interested in participating.

The Scientific Secretary of BAS in division “Energy Resources and Energy Efficiency” Prof. Sevdalina Dimitrova presented the activities of the scientific units in the Academy and the opportunities for admission and training of post-doctoral students from Turkey.

Çankırı Karatekin University trains 22 thousand students, 4 thousand of whom young people from different countries in Europe and the United States of America.
