The Vice Presidents of BAS, Corr. Memb. Evdokiya Pasheva and Corr. Memb. Stefan Hadjidodorov, today discussed the Bulgarian-Japanese relations in the field of science with representatives of Tokai University and the “Sts. Cyril and Methodius” international foundation. The meeting was attended by Prof. Kiyoshi Yamada, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Tokai University, Prof. Naoto Yoshikawa, Vice-Chancellor of Tokai University, Mr. Hisara Tanaka, Asst. Executive Director (Global Initiatives) of the Office of the Chancellor of Tokai University and Dr. Manami Hori, Director of the European Centre of Tokai University in Denmark.

Tokai University has made a significant contribution to the development of bilateral scientific, cultural and educational exchange between Bulgaria and Japan. For tens of years, students and lecturers from the Faculty of Archaeology of Tokai University have been participating in the archaeological excavations at Dyadovo Mound together with Bulgarian archaeologists from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, under the guidance of Prof. Diana Gergova from NAIM-BAS.

The meeting was attended by the President of the “Sts. Cyril and Methodius” International Foundation Prof. Stefan Stefanov and the President of Tokai University Alumni Association Biljana Stanoilovic.
