On December 20, the President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy, and the Vice-President Corr. Memb. Evdokiya Pasheva were received by the President of the Republic of Armenia. President Khachaturyan highly appreciated the role of academic science in the life of the country, noting that the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia played a very important role in the life of Armenia and that without science and education Armenia had no future as the country had no material wealth. Our resources are science and people, the President said.

Thanking for the reception, Prof. Julian Revalski emphasized that this visit was a great honor for them and also emphasized the crucial contribution of science and innovation to the development of society. He briefed the President on the history and achievements of BAS. Both sides reaffirmed the importance of establishing and strengthening ties between the academic communities of the two countries. The meeting was organized with the active assistance of the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Armenia H.E. Kalin Anastasov.

A delegation of BAS was on an official visit to Yerevan at the invitation of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia on the occasion of its 80th anniversary. In this regard, in the period 19-21 December, a series of meetings and events were held which would contribute to the promotion and intensification of cooperation between the academies of sciences of Bulgaria and Armenia.
