The President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy, awarded Prof. Tzolo Voutov, Manager of Geotechmin Ltd., with the “Medal of Distinction of the President of BAS” for his outstanding services to the Academy and on the occasion of his 75th anniversary.
I am honoured to present this award, said Prof. Revalski, and thanked for the support and cooperation emphasizing the dedicated professional, public and philanthropic activities of Prof. Voutov. Your humanity and sponsorship are a source of respect, noted the President of BAS during the ceremony.
Prof. Tzolo Voutov thanked for the special award of BAS and stressed that everything he had achieved was with the support of his family and his team. We will continue the existing partnership between the scientists of the Academy, its scientific units and our experts on various projects, said Prof. Voutov.
Prof. DSc. Eng. Tzolo Voutov is one of the three co-founders of Geotechmin Ltd. and head of the GEOTECHMIN Group since 1999. He has significant research and engineering achievements in mine exploration and optimization which ranks him among the most renowned mining specialists in the field of open pit mining of non-ferrous metals. He is a recipient of the Order of Stara Planina, First Class, for his outstanding contribution and services to the economic development of the country and the establishment of modern industrial relations as well as dozens of other prestigious awards in the fields of business, science and charity. In 2015, Prof. Tzolo Voutov was awarded the honorary plaquette “Patron of BAS” for his personal contribution to the development and promotion of the institution. He is among the sponsors of BAS, has supported many causes and participated in the initiative committee for the construction of a monument to Acad. Blagovest Sendov.
The ceremony was attended by the Vice-Presidents of BAS, Corr. Memb. Evdokia Pasheva and Corr. Memb. Stefan Hadjitodorov, and the Scientific Secretary-General Prof. Neli Koseva.
