Forty scientists are discussing the intangible cultural heritage at BAS

Bulgaria is one of the first countries in the world to fulfill the condition of the 2003 UNESCO Convention on the establishment of a National Register of Intangible Cultural Heritage. That was highlighted as a major contribution of the Academy’s scientists by corr.-mem. Mila Santova at the international scientific conference “Current Issues in the Study of the Intangible Cultural Heritage and the Implementation of the 2003 Convention. UNESCO presents the achievements of BAS in Paris

At the initiative of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Academy is included in the UNESCO program for 2019. On this occasion, a photo exhibition of BAS at the UNESCO premises in Paris is presenting the activities of the Academy to the international community.
