BAS and BNA are expanding their cooperation

An agreement for joint activity aimed at popularizing scientific research was signed today by the President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences Prof. Julian Revalski, Full Member of BAS, and the Director-General of the Bulgarian News Agency Kiril Valchev. The National Assembly approved the annual report of BAS for 2019

The National Assembly approved the annual report of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences for 2019 at today's plenary session. The President of BAS, Prof. Julian Revalski, Full Member of the Academy, presented the activity of BAS during the past year to the deputies. BAS strengthens its role as a leading scientific institution - over 50% of the referenced scientific articles according to Web of Science for 2019 are of researchers from the Academy, highlighted Prof. Revalski and said that there was stability of the scientific results of the researchers from BAS which were also aimed at their direct application in practice. Communication from the Board of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences

On 03.12.2019, the Assembly of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts (MASA) adopted a “Charter of the Macedonian Language”. It constructs historical and linguistic arguments in defense of the official literary language of the Republic of North Macedonia as a separate, independent language with continuity and genealogy defined in Skopje as “Macedonian”. The document raises very serious scientific objections. Therefore, it has been discussed by the Board of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, after which opinions have been requested and presented by three institutes of the Academy: the Institute for Bulgarian Language, the Cyrillo-Methodian Research Centre and the Institute for Historical Studies. Bulgaria and Cuba will partner in the field of science

Innovative European projects were presented by scientists at BAS

The implementation of three projects for the construction and development of centers of excellence and centers of competence was presented by BAS to a delegation from the European Commission led by Vittoria Alliata di Villafranca. She is responsible for strengthening the administrative capacity and implementation of the programs in Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania and Hungary. The funding is under the Operational Program "Science and Education for Smart Growth" 2014-2020. The presentation was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Education and Science Karina Angelieva.
