A new experiment with a Bulgarian instrument from the Liulin series on Virgin Galactic’s SpaceShipTwo spaceplane

Virgin Galactic company has conducted its first commercial mission into suborbital space with the SpaceShipTwo spaceplane. Scientists of BAS participate in the youth festival “Hello Space! Bulgaria Calling!”

Scientists from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences participated in the third edition of the Bulgarian Youth Festival "Hello Space! Bulgaria Calling!" which took place on 29 June in Sofia Tech Park. Its aim is to spark the imagination of children and young people in Bulgaria, to encourage them to dream and plan, to pursue careers in science, technologies, engineering, art and mathematics and to find solutions through science. The event was organised by the national Space & STEAM Cluster and the Atlantic Club of Bulgaria, with the support of the US Embassy in Bulgaria and NASA (Houston). Contemporary problems of Lie theory and its applications in physics discussed at a workshop

  The Institute for Nuclear Research and Nuclear Energy, BAS and “Lie Theory and its Applications in Science” foundation organised the 15th Workshop on Lie Theory and its Applications in Physics http://theo.inrne.bas.bg/~dobrev/LT-15.htm, which was held from 19 to 25 June 2023 at the Varna Creativity House. The Workshop was attended by 78 scientists from Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Japan, Poland, Slovenia, Taiwan, Ukraine, USA and the United Kingdom. MILIEU – Building scientific expertise for research on women with disabilities and their inclusion

The mission of the three-year MILIEU project, which is funded under the European Commission's Horizon 2020 programme, is to unlock, foster and sustain research into women, their disabilities and their inclusion in active society. The project promotes international connectivity and increased contacts and fundraising capacity at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology (IPS) and the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. A specific focus of the project is to enhance the knowledge and skills of PhD students and young scholars in IPS and BAS. So far the project has managed to implement several key events. Open work meeting on the NSI ESHER project

The fifth joint work meeting of the General Assembly and Advisory Board of the National Scientific Infrastructure for Energy Storage and Hydrogen Energy (NSI ESHER) project was held on 19 and 20 June at IEES-BAS. Presentation of innovative bioactive agents for the needs of personalized and preventive medicine

Innovative biologically active agents for the needs of personalized and preventive medicine were presented at the Fourth Scientific Conference "Innovative Low-Toxic Biologically Active Agents for Precision Medicine", held from 12 to 16 June 2023. The scientific conference was held in the framework of the NRP BioActiveMed, with the leading organisation Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the financial support of the Ministry of Education and Science. More than 50 scientists took part in the scientific forum and presented the results of the interdisciplinary research conducted in seven institutes of BAS and five universities.
