Scientists from four continents discuss supercomputing applications in scientific computing

150 scientists from 22 countries participated in the international scientific conference "Large-Scale Scientific Computations" (LSSC'23) which was held from 5 to 9 June in Sozopol. The forum was organised by the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies of BAS (IICT-BAS) in cooperation with the "Centre of Excellence in Informatics and ICT" and the Municipality of Sozopol. Memorandum of Cooperation between the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan

  The President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences Prof. Julian Revalski, Full Member of BAS, and the President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Prof. Kunsulu Zakarya signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the two scientific organisations. The ceremony, which took place in Astana, was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bulgaria to Kazakhstan H.E. Boyan Hadjiev. Prior to the signing of the document, the heads of the two Academies discussed the opportunities for deepening cooperation between the scientists from Bulgaria and Kazakhstan. Among the priority areas of joint activity are biotechnology, mathematics, materials science, nuclear physics and others. Conference “Genome Structure and Function”

International conference on stellar research takes place in Sofia

  International conference on "Stellar variability, stellar multiplicity" with the participation of 50 scientists from 15 European countries within the project "COST Action #18104 MW-GAIA: Revealing the Milky Way with Gaia” takes place at Sofia Tech Park from 6 to 8 June 2023. 100 years since the birth of Academician Jordan Malinowski

A session dedicated to the life and scientific achievements of Academician Jordan Malinowski was held on June 6 at the “Prof. Marin Drinov” Hall of BAS. The event was held on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the great Bulgarian scientist and physical chemist, who is also the patron of the Institute of Optical Materials and Technologies (IOMT-BAS). Acad.
