Minister of Energy R. Radev expressed his gratitude to the team from BAS who participated in the project for the preparation of the National Energy Strategy (with a focus on the electricity sector) in 2018, with the Economic Research Institute as the lead contractor. The partnership between BAS, the energy system companies and the Ministry of Energy is highly appreciated. The letter states that the summary report as well as the three interim reports of BAS on the Strategy provide an independent and credible assessment of the processes in the sector and will be helpful in taking important decisions for the transformation towards low carbon energy and for the implementation of the European Green Deal. The summary report will be the basis for building on subsequent studies on the trends and liberalisation of the electricity market in the country and on the prospects for the Bulgarian energy sector.
