Promotion of doctoral programs offered by higher education institutions and scientific organizations in Israel among the Bulgarian scientific community and the long-standing good relations between Bulgaria and Israel were among the topics discussed at the meeting between the President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski and the Ambassador of Israel to Bulgaria H. E. Yosef Levi-Sfari. Prof. Revalski briefed the Ambassador on the joint initiative of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Israeli Academy of Sciences and Humanities to hold a workshop at BAS with guest speakers from Israel to introduce representatives of the Bulgarian scientific community to the state of science and some of its latest achievements in Israel as well as the existing opportunities for cooperation, exchange and development of scientific personnel from both communities. The workshop is planned to take place in the current year 2024.
The two sides agreed to cooperate in strengthening the ties between Bulgaria and Israel in the field of science.
The meeting was also attended by Corr. Memb. Stefan Hadjitodorov, Vice-President of BAS, and Roni Goldberg, responsible for scientific and cultural affairs at the Embassy of Israel in Bulgaria.
