The long-standing and fruitful cooperation between the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (UAS) was discussed at a meeting between the President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy, and the Ambassador of Hungary to Bulgaria H.E. Miklós Boros. Over the past two years, seven joint research projects were carried out in the fields of nanosciences, new materials and technologies, biodiversity, bioresources and ecology, climate change, hazards and natural resources, and cultural heritage and national identity. Prof. Revalski highlighted that five other projects have been approved for implementation for the period 2024-2025.

Н.E. Miklós Boros assured the President of BAS of the full readiness of the Embassy of Hungary to assist in the implementation of joint activities between BAS and Hungarian scientific organizations.  The Ambassador thanked for the cooperation of the Academy in commemorating Prof. Geza Feher (1890-1955), a Hungarian scholar and foreign member of BAS, one of the founders of Pre-Bulgarian studies, by a memorial plaque.

The meeting today at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences was also attended by Ms Szandra Miskédi, Director of the Hungarian Cultural Institute in Sofia.
