The Scientific Archives of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences presented archival fund 250 “Vasil Seizov” in the “Ivan Evstratiev Geshov” Hall of the Academy on March 26. The event was organized on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the death of the prominent journalist and public figure and the announcement of newly acquired documents donated by his daughter Froska Seizova. She shared moving memories of her father.
The Scientific Archives of BAS has launched an initiative to present to the public newly processed archival funds containing the documentary heritage of prominent Bulgarian scientists and public figures, announced the Director of the Archives, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rumyana Chukova.
Vasil Kotsev Seizov (Kavadartsi, 1899 – Sofia, 1975) was a prominent defender of the Bulgarian national cause in Vardar Macedonia. He was an active journalist in the period between the two world wars in Bulgaria, Poland and Croatia where he worked for a number of prestigious periodicals. As editor-in-chief of the soldiers’ newspaper Ustrem, he was convicted by the People’s Court of “Great-Bulgarian chauvinism”.
