From September 1 to 4, 2026, the Thirteenth International Conference “New Directions in Applications of Differential Equations in Sciences (NTADES2026)” was held in the city of Sozopol. This year, the conference was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Academician Petar Popivanov, a prominent mathematician in the field of differential equations with international recognition. NTADES2026 was organized in cooperation with the Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM). During the conference, Academician Petar Popivanov delivered a plenary talk on problems of Goursat and Darboux for the string equation. Plenary talks were also given by famous mathematicians in the field of partial differential equations. Scientists from leading universities and institutes in the Americas, Asia, and Europe participated in the fifth international conference “Numerical Methods for Scientific Computations and Advanced Applications” – NMSCAA’26.  The forum took place from June 15 to 18 in Sozopol and was organized by the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies of BAS. The conference was opened by Corresponding Member Svetozar Margenov. Traditionally, the topics covered included: modeling, simulation and optimization; multiscale and multiphysics problems; robust iterative methods and sparse matrix computation; fractional differential equations and non-local problems; parallel numerical methods and scalable algorithms; advanced applications in science and engineering. Awards for outstanding research and publication achievements have been presented to doctoral students at the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies of BAS (IICT) during a ceremony held today. This is the first time such an award has been established with the aim of encouraging and recognizing young researchers at the institute. The chair of the awards committee, Prof. Stanislav Harizanov, expressed his gratitude to the doctoral students who participated in the competition and their academic advisors.
