At the invitation of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), from 26 to 28 October 2022 the President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Full Member of the Academy, participated in the Second Annual Conference of the Scientific Francophonie in Cairo, Egypt. The main theme of this year's forum was artificial intelligence. AUF is an international organisation with over 1000 participants (universities, institutes, research centers, etc.) spread over 119 countries. It aims to unite and support francophone scientific communities around the world. In 2022, BAS applied for associate membership in the AUF, and the Academy's application was approved at the regional level (Eastern Europe). The President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Full Member of the Academy, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea H.E. Mr. Lee Ho-shik. They discussed the opportunities for strengthening the cooperation between the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and scientific organizations in the Republic of Korea, as well as the existing cooperation between BAS and the Korea Institute of Science and Technology. It is planned to organize a joint scientific seminar in Bulgaria. The meeting was also attended by the Vice-President of BAS Corr. Member Stefan Hadjitodorov.

They discussed the agreement on scientific cooperation with the Egyptian Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT), within the framework of which scientists from Bulgaria and Egypt are working jointly on nine projects.
