Bulgarian achievements in space science

Demonstrations with drones and on a stationary training simulator were made by scientists from the Space Research and Technology Institute (SRTI) in the Open Day on the occasion of the International Day of Aviation and Cosmonautics – 12 April. The researchers gave lectures on new space research projects and talked about Bulgarian achievements at the Institute. Original Bulgarian equipment is working on the International Space Station. Bulgarian technology measures radiation on the International Space Station

The Liulin-SET instrument, developed at the Space Research and Technology Institute of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (SRTI – BAS) will fly into space on 19 February. Scientific Forum Seventeenth International Scientific Conference “Space-Ecology-Safety SES 2021”

Sofia, 20-22 October 2021 The Seventeenth International Scientific Conference "Space-Ecology-Safety SES 2021", dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the first human space flight and the 40th anniversary of the scientific programme for the satellites "Bulgaria 1300", was held at the Space Research and Technology Institute of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (SRTI-BAS). Honorary Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Conference was the President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Full Member of the Academy, and chairman was Corr. Mem. Prof. Peter Getsov. In the Scientific Programme Committee, there were also representatives of Russia, France, Greece, Czech Republic, Italy, England, Netherlands, Egypt and Poland. 12 April – 60 years since the first manned space flight

April 12 marks the International Day of Cosmonautics, and this year the 60th anniversary of the first manned space flight - the orbital flight of cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin. The Space Research and Technology Institute at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (SRTI-BAS) has significant achievements in the field of space research through the developed scientific programs and equipment. Our country is the sixth country in the world with an astronaut, whose scientific program is fully prepared by specialists in SRTI-BAS, the third country in the world with two satellites in orbit with all-Bulgarian scientific equipment, also developed by specialists in SRTI-BAS and the third country which created space food.
